Verified images reveal the destruction of a US command and control aircraft, the E-3 Sentry, which appears to have been cleaved in two at the Prince Sultan Air Base, located approximately 100 kilometers southeast of Riyadh. The damage was confirmed through several sources, including satellite imagery that aligns with the features observed in the photos.

According to reports, an Iranian military attack targeted the base, which led to injuries to twelve US personnel, with two reported to be in serious condition. Early indications suggest that the drone strike might have been executed by an Iranian Shahed drone, as indicated by Iranian news sources.

While US Central Command has not made an official statement, the incident reinforces the ongoing tensions in the region. A satellite image captured shortly after the attack also revealed signs of a fire near the damaged aircraft, although it remains unclear if this was directly related to the drone strike.

The E-3 Sentry, an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), plays a pivotal role in air operations by providing vital surveillance and control capabilities. Originally introduced in 1977, it is expected to remain operational until 2035, continuing to deliver crucial information for managing aerial engagements.
