In brief

At ADIPEC 2026, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Energy inked a partnership with H2G Green Ltd, GasHubUnited, MUZN Energy and CloudEnergi to assess liquefied natural gas options for industrial and commercial sites outside the current gas network. The framework seeks to diversify supply, enhance reliability and support the emirate’s shift to lower‑emission fuels, with up to AED 1 billion in investment on the table. The deal, announced by WAM, underscores the government’s commitment to energy security and industrial growth.

At the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2026) on 5 November 2026, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Energy (DoE) signed an agreement with H2G Green Ltd and its subsidiary GasHubUnited Utility Private Ltd, MUZN Energy—a subsidiary of SERGAS Group—and CloudEnergi. The pact establishes a cooperation framework for assessing the development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to serve industrial and commercial facilities in Abu Dhabi that lie beyond the coverage of existing gas distribution networks.

The agreement intends to diversify supply options, improve reliability, and help firms transition to lower‑emission fuels, aligning with the emirate’s sustainability and energy efficiency objectives. By exploring LNG solutions for sites not yet connected to the existing gas grid, the partnership aims to support business continuity and expansion while creating new pathways for lower‑emission alternatives.

The DoE stated that the partnership could unlock up to AED 1 billion in investment. WAM reported that potential cooperation also includes supporting maritime supply solutions, further enhancing the region’s energy security and industrial growth.

The collaboration reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to developing an integrated, secure and reliable energy system capable of supporting economic and industrial expansion. Private‑sector involvement, an enabling regulatory environment and practical innovation are the pillars of this initiative, designed to diversify the supply chain, improve efficiency and respond to the evolving needs of the emirate’s vital sectors.
