In brief
During the Dubai FinTech Summit, Bank of Singapore CEO Jason Moo underscored that Dubai and Singapore together form a powerful ecosystem for global wealth management. He noted increasing investment links between Asia and the Middle East, the transformative impact of AI on private banking, and rising interest from Chinese investors in Dubai. The CEO affirmed that the bank’s Dubai hub complements its Singapore and Hong Kong operations, driving new opportunities for clients across the region.
Bank of Singapore CEO Jason Moo highlighted the complementary roles of Dubai and Singapore during a one‑on‑one fireside chat at the Dubai FinTech Summit, held at Madinat Jumeirah on the first day of the event.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Moo said the two cities can work together to support a growing flow of wealth between Asia and the Middle East.
WAM reports that Moo noted the rise in investment links between Asia and the Middle East, and that his bank is seeing more international clients over the past five years while Asian clients still dominate its portfolio.
The CEO explained that artificial intelligence is changing private banking, allowing the bank to offer more tailored services and efficient asset management.
Only WAM records that Bank of Singapore has seen a surge of interest from Chinese conglomerates and investors in Dubai’s wealth and investment opportunities. Moo said the bank is organising visits to Dubai for Chinese investors and senior financial institution executives, and its DIFC branch provides dedicated coverage for this expanding client base.
In addition, WAM notes that Middle Eastern clients are looking to Asia for custody and investment opportunities, with particular interest in ASEAN markets. Moo said this trend is “where the next alliances will be built.”
The CEO also confirmed that Dubai is one of Bank of Singapore’s three strategic hubs, alongside Hong Kong and Singapore itself, and that the DIFC branch continues to add bankers to its team.
