At least three Palestinian women have been killed and eight more injured after missile debris hit a beauty salon in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) says. The PRCS reported that shrapnel struck the site in the town of Beit Awwa, located near Hebron in the southern West Bank. According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, fragments landed on a metal caravan that served as a salon, alongside several other locations in the region.

In addition to the casualties in the West Bank, a Thai worker lost his life from shrapnel that struck a farming community in Israel. The incident transpired on Wednesday night, shortly after the Israeli military stated that efforts were underway to intercept an Iranian missile attack.

Wafa identified the deceased women as 17-year-old Mais Ghazi Masalmeh, 50-year-old Sahira Rizq Masalmeh, and 36-year-old Amal Sobhi Abdel Karim Matawa' Masalmeh. Following the incident, emergency response teams, which included at least five ambulances, rushed to the scene to tend to 'several casualties and injuries'.

The bodies of the three women were transported to a local hospital, while other victims received medical attention for 'critical and moderate' wounds. Initially, the PRCS reported four fatalities before revising the number down to three.

The PRCS also highlighted the difficulties faced by response teams in reaching the site due to the closure of iron gates, which critically impacted the time available to save the injured. In Israel, the Thai worker was killed in Moshav Adanim, about 12 miles (20km) northeast of Tel Aviv, where metal shrapnel was reported across the scene.

Israeli medics are yet to identify the deceased worker, and inquiries have been made to the Israeli military for further comments.
