Hostage Discovered Dead in Gaza; Family Pushed for Ceasefire
Tensions escalate as Israel confirms the discovery of Youssef Ziyadne’s body in Gaza, raising urgent calls for a ceasefire to return hostages.
The Israeli military announced the tragic discovery of Youssef Ziyadne's body, a hostage abducted on October 7, 2023, amid heightened tensions in Gaza. Ziyadne was found in an underground tunnel in Rafah, alongside alarming evidence concerning another captive, his son Hamza. During a Hamas-led attack, Ziyadne and three adult children were taken while working at a kibbutz. While two of his children were released during a brief truce in November 2023, Youssef and Hamza are believed still to be held by Hamas.
