On Friday, President Prabowo Subianto formally welcomed 11 new foreign ambassadors to Indonesia at Merdeka Palace, using the credential‑presentation ceremony to underline Jakarta’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and strategic partnerships worldwide. The new diplomatic cohort marks the commencement of duties for envoys representing Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Norway, Japan, Switzerland, Malaysia, Finland, the Holy See, Suriname and the European Union.

According to a statement released by the Cabinet Secretariat, President Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia remains fully prepared to foster mutually beneficial ties with international partners, stating, “The government of Indonesia is open and prepared to strengthen friendships, build partnerships, and develop various mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities with friendly nations.”

After the credentials presentation, President Prabowo hosted a bilateral meeting and reception for the ambassadors, during which Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage was showcased.

The event featured a traditional dance performance of the _Zapin Lenggang Kipas_ from Jambi, accompanied by the _Sasando_, a stringed instrument from East Nusa Tenggara, illustrating Indonesia’s cultural diversity to the visiting envoys.

The government expects the expanded diplomatic presence to deepen strategic collaborations, enhance bilateral ties and deliver mutual benefits for citizens across Indonesia and the respective partner nations.
