In brief
Two Palestinians were injured in northern Gaza when rain triggered the collapse of a wall in a building already damaged by Israeli shelling, while heavy rainfall flooded thousands of temporary shelters, worsening the plight of displaced residents amid widespread destruction. The incident, reported by Anadolu, highlights the ongoing toll of Israel’s war in Gaza, which has already claimed over 74,000 Palestinian lives and wounded more than 175,000.
Two Palestinians were injured in northern Gaza on Saturday when rain caused the wall of a building that had been damaged by earlier Israeli shelling to collapse, a medical source told Anadolu.
The rain also flooded thousands of displacement tents near Gaza City’s port, west of Deir al-Balah, north of the Nuseirat refugee camp, and in Jabalia and Beit Lahia, eyewitnesses reported as a low‑pressure system and cold air mass brought heavy precipitation across the Gaza Strip.
Since October 2023, Israel’s war on Gaza has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and wounded over 175,000, while widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure has compounded the hardship faced by displaced residents who shelter in worn‑out tents lacking adequate protection from rain and cold, Anadolu reported.
