In brief

Lebanon’s Health Ministry, cited by Tehran’s Iranian news agency IRNA and Al‑Manar TV, says 8,956 people have died and 30,664 wounded since October 2023 due to Israeli aggression. Between March 2 and October 30, 2026, 4,389 were killed and 12,428 injured. A framework agreement signed a month earlier under U.S. mediation has sparked criticism over its legal status and lack of a clear withdrawal timetable.

Tehran, IRNA reported today that Lebanon’s Health Ministry has announced that 8,956 people have been killed and 30,664 wounded since the start of Israeli military operations in October 2023. The ministry’s bulletin, cited by Al‑Manar TV network on Friday night, also records that 4,389 people were killed and 12,428 wounded between March 2 and October 30, 2026.

According to the ministry, the Israeli regime launched a large‑scale offensive on March 2, displacing more than one million Lebanese civilians. Israeli forces continue to occupy areas in southern Lebanon, the ministry says.

In a late‑stage development of the conflict, the Lebanese government and the Israeli regime signed a framework agreement last month under U.S. mediation, following several rounds of direct negotiations in Washington. The agreement was intended to end the war between the regime and Hezbollah, yet IRNA notes that it has drawn criticism for its uncertain legal status and for lacking a clear timetable for the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
