Incumbent president Iliana Iotova and vice‑presidential candidate Kiril Valchev are currently leading the November 1 runoff with 57.95% of the vote, according to preliminary results released by the Central Election Commission. The tally, based on 52.42% of tallies processed, shows the pair receiving 580,918 votes as they outpace opponents Andrey Gurov and Georgi Kandev who trail with 39.01% (390,988 votes) and a small fraction voting “None of the above.”
Earlier in the evening, the Bulgarian CEC had issued a first official count that collected only 17.39% of the election commission protocols. That count reported a slightly lower figure of 57.943% for Iotova and Valchev, with 577,345 votes, while Gurov and Kandev were noted at 39.007%.
Both sources confirm that the incumbent pair sit firmly ahead in the runoff, though the level of processing differs between the 17.39% and 52.42% totals reported by the commission. No other outlets have provided an independent figure at this time.
