Following a disturbing incident in Lahore, Pakistan, police have arrested the owners of a pet lion that attacked a woman and her three young children. The attack, captured on CCTV, shows the lion jumping over a concrete wall and pursuing the woman, leading to injuries for her and her children, aged five and seven. Fortunately, they are now reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities have charged the owners with housing a wild animal without a proper license and negligence, which culminated in the lion's escape. The lion has since been apprehended and moved to a local wildlife park. In Pakistan, owning exotic animals like lions, tigers, and jaguars is legal if one registers and pays a fee, but they must be housed outside city limits. The disturbing footage displayed the lion's owners inactive as the animal attacked, sparking backlash from the public.

In response to this incident, the Punjab government has initiated a crackdown on illegal wildlife ownership, leading to five arrests and the retrieval of 13 lions. This scrutiny comes after another recent case where a prominent YouTuber was fined for illegally possessing a lion cub.
