Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt warned that Germany is a frequent target of “destabilising” hybrid attacks, underscoring that the country is not at war but is daily vulnerable. He echoed concerns that the drones could be linked to a broader pattern of unrest involving Russian‑linked operations, a claim Moscow continually denies.
Investigations are underway to determine how the bomb‑laden drone breached security and reached the runway at Leipzig/Halle. Meanwhile, Kyiv has urged allies for more interceptor missiles after a continuing shortfall in Patriot‑style defenses.
