Vanessa first disclosed her diagnosis in a May social‑media post, noting she had undergone surgery and was working with her medical team on a treatment plan. She first learned of her condition in April.
According to the American Cancer Society, about 1 in 8 American women will develop breast cancer, making it one of the most common cancers among women. Early surgery followed by chemotherapy, radiotherapy or endocrine therapy can reduce long‑term recurrence risks.
Advances in treatment now offer targeted therapies for early‑stage disease, new hormonal options and more precise radiotherapy approaches.
