Chris Brown, the renowned R&B artist, was granted bail by a London judge, enabling him to continue preparations for his upcoming world tour. The singer, aged 36, had been detained following his arrest at a Manchester hotel last week on charges of grievous bodily harm related to an alleged nightclub incident.

The accusations stem from an altercation on February 19, 2023, at Tape London, a popular venue in the Mayfair area, where Brown is accused of assaulting a music producer with a tequila bottle. During a recent hearing at Southwark Crown Court in South London, Brown's lawyers successfully argued for his release, which has been approved by the Metropolitan Police.

The judge, Tony Baumgartner, allowed Brown's release under strict conditions. These include the surrender of his passport outside of the tour schedule and avoiding contact with Tape London. To secure his release, Brown's team paid a substantial bail amount of five million pounds ($6.7 million), which is at risk of forfeiture should he violate any of the imposed conditions.

As of now, Brown has not entered a plea for the charges, and due to British law, specific case details that could potentially influence a future jury remain under wraps. In connection with the same incident, another American rapper, Omololu Akinlolu, known as HoodyBaby, has also faced charges of grievous bodily harm as of two days post-Brown's arrest. Both are expected to appear for a hearing on June 20 at Southwark Crown Court before Brown embarks on his international tour beginning in Amsterdam on June 8, and subsequently traveling through Germany, Britain, Ireland, France, and Portugal, ultimately heading to the U.S.
