In brief

Kazakhstan’s Data Center Valley project is expected to yield about $3.1 billion in annual export revenue, with a 20‑year investment of $115 billion. The first phase will add 304 MW of capacity across three centers, while later phases aim for 1 GW by 2029. The initiative also plans a 100,000‑GPU cluster, according to the prime minister’s press service.

Kazakhstan announced that its planned Data Center Valley will aim to generate about $3.1 billion in annual export revenue, according to the prime minister’s press service.

The project will receive a total investment of $115 billion over its 20‑year life, sourced from international consulting‑firm estimates, said the statement.

In its first phase, three data centers—48 MW, 164 MW and 68 MW—will come online in the second, third and fourth quarters of 2027, together providing 304 MW of computing power.

Preliminary agreements for the second phase already cover 480 MW of new capacity, with potential expansion to 620 MW, and negotiations are underway for an additional 240 MW that could rise to 420 MW.

The total capacity is projected to reach 1 GW by 2029, a milestone the project’s planners say will reinforce Kazakhstan’s technology sector and export profile.

According to an earlier government announcement, the valley will also host a large‑scale cluster equipped with 100 000 graphics‑processing units, a detail reported only by the prime minister’s press service.
