This development follows a separate incident in which five individuals connected to his hip-hop group, Only The Family (OTF), were charged in Chicago related to a 2022 shooting that resulted in the death of a cousin of Quando Rondo, another well-known rapper. At 33, Lil Durk has achieved significant success in the music industry with six albums reaching the top five of the Billboard charts since 2019, and he recently won a Grammy Award for best melodic rap performance on his song "All My Life", featuring J Cole. OTF, which Durk founded in 2010, is a central figure in the Chicago drill rap scene, which is often associated with violent incidents. The charges against the five men allege that they orchestrated the shooting in Los Angeles as retaliation for the 2020 death of King Von, another artist linked to OTF. Notably, a friend of Quando Rondo was accused of killing King Von, but the charges were later dismissed. The latest indictment reveals claims of a conspiracy to pay individuals to participate in efforts against Quando Rondo. In 2022, some of the accused allegedly fired shots towards a vehicle carrying Quando Rondo and his family members, resulting in the death of his cousin, Saviay'a Robinson. Earlier this month, the mother of FBG Duck, another Chicago rapper, filed a lawsuit that implicated Lil Durk, OTF, and King Von in Duck's 2020 murder.This is not the first time Lil Durk has faced serious legal issues; charges against him from an attempted murder case related to a 2019 shooting were previously dropped.
