Afghanistan launched a four‑day anti‑polio vaccination campaign on Monday, November 2, targeting 12.8 million children under five across the country, Xinhua reports.
The campaign, as detailed by the state‑run media, will not only administer polio vaccine drops but also give children albendazole tablets to prevent intestinal worm infections.
Minister of Public Health Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali urged Afghan parents to ensure their children receive the polio vaccine as part of the country’s push to eliminate the disease.
"The polio vaccine is a vital step toward eradicating this crippling disease," he said.
