Leonid Radvinsky, the owner of OnlyFans, known for reshaping the online adult content industry, passed away at the age of 43. Born in Ukraine and raised in Chicago, Radvinsky acquired the platform in 2018, which has since gained immense popularity, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, placing him on Forbes' list of billionaires within three years.

OnlyFans confirmed in a statement that he 'passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer,' requesting privacy for his family during this difficult time.

Founded in 2016, OnlyFans has allowed creators to share various types of content, predominantly adult-oriented material, and has become noted for its personalized engagement between creators and their subscribers. Radvinsky was pivotal in the platform's success, which boasts a significant revenue generation model where the site takes a 20% cut from all transactions.

The platform has registered over 377 million subscribers and generated $1.4 billion in revenue from more than £7 billion transactions in 2024, with 4.6 million active creators. However, it has faced ethical questions and scrutiny over content regulation and age verification practices, particularly when British regulators launched an inquiry concerning minors accessing porn in 2024.

Radvinsky held a degree in economics from Northwestern University and lived in Florida, where he also invested in tech companies through his venture capital firm, Leo.com. His philanthropic efforts included contributions to various cancer research organizations.
