At least seven people were killed in Russian strikes across Ukraine overnight, including five in the central city of Dnipro, where officials said an apartment building was hit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the attack lasted practically all night, and rescuers were still searching for survivors under rubble in Dnipro on Saturday morning. In response to the heavy attack, British jets were deployed from Romania when Russian drones neared the border, though the UK Ministry of Defence dismissed reports of shooting any down.

Ukraine also conducted long-distance drone strikes deep inside Russian territory, with reports of drone strikes in Yekaterinburg and near Chelyabinsk. The missile and drone attacks also claimed lives in Chernihiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv. Ukrainian authorities reported the successful interception of a large number of Russian drones, emphasizing the persistent nature of Russian tactics involving strikes against civilian infrastructure.

The situation remains tense, with ongoing rescue operations in Dnipro and military engagements on both sides as peace talks stagnate. Zelensky has been actively seeking international support for Ukraine's military efforts, recently meeting with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince to discuss enhancing military cooperation amid heightened regional tensions.
