On Monday, Pakistani security forces killed nine militants in the southwest province of Balochistan, according to a statement from the military’s media wing, the Inter‑Services Public Relations, as reported by Xinhua. The operations were carried out in the Kachhi and Wadh districts of the province.

In Kachhi district, security forces raided a militant hideout and killed seven fighters after an intense exchange of fire. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site, the statement said.

In a separate operation in Wadh district, security forces intercepted the movement of militants and killed two of them following an exchange of fire, the ISPR said.

The military said that sanitisation operations are underway in the areas to eliminate any remaining insurgents, noting that the militants were allegedly linked to the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army, and that it was an intelligence‑based operation.
