In brief

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on Friday that officials had no knowledge of a possible contact between Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump had earlier suggested a potential meeting and Zelensky expressed hope for a trilateral talk in Abu Dhabi. A Facebook source reports that a U.S. official was unaware of informal contacts, and another Facebook post notes the Kremlin’s rejection of a ceasefire proposal.

The Kremlin has no information about a possible three‑way contact involving Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in Moscow on Friday.

"We know nothing about it,"

Peskov was asked about Trump’s announcement that a meeting of the three leaders could take place, and he clarified that nothing has been confirmed.

Trump had earlier indicated he was expecting to meet with both leaders soon, although the talks did not necessarily have to be in person, the Xinhua report noted. Zelensky said on Wednesday that he hoped a trilateral meeting of peace negotiators would be held in Abu Dhabi between Nov. 6 and 10.

A Facebook post claims that a U.S. official was unaware of informal contacts through intermediaries, and according to three Russian sources, Putin’s signal was relayed to Washington. This claim appears only in that Facebook source and is not reported elsewhere.

Another Facebook group post stated that the Kremlin rejected a ceasefire proposal during negotiations, saying they do not want to give the Ukrainians a break.
