In brief

TASS reported that Washington is preparing to resume targeted strikes on Iran on Nov. 4, following a cease‑fire memorandum signed earlier this year. American officials have warned several Persian Gulf nations to ready themselves for a "short, intense round of strikes." The U.S. is shifting from large‑scale military action to sanctions, while allies attempt to de‑escalate amid fears of Iranian retaliation.

TASS reports that the United States is preparing to launch a brief, intense series of strikes on Iran beginning on November 4, announcing the plan to several Persian Gulf allies.

According to the Russian news agency, the US administration has instructed those states to prepare for a "short, intense round of strikes" as soon as the midterm elections in the United States conclude.

"A short, intense round of strikes, as soon as November 4," sources cited by MS NOW said.

The announcement comes after the U.S. and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding in June that called for an immediate end to hostilities, including in Lebanon. The agreement was meant to halt large‑scale warfare that began on February 28, but the United States resumed extensive strikes on June 8, alleging Iranian violations of the Strait of Hormuz. Since then, Washington has shifted its focus from conventional military action to economic sanctions, signaling an end to mass air attacks.

Gulf states are reportedly working to de‑escalate the situation, fearing possible Iranian retaliation if the U.S. carries out strikes from their territory. An unnamed regional official cautioned that some allies might oppose U.S. forces launching attacks from bases on their soil, a sentiment echoed by Gulf governments seeking to maintain stability.

Only TASS has reported the U.S. strike plan, with no corroboration from other outlets at this time.
