In brief
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center formally began construction of a Continuous Medical and Health Education Center (CCMHE) in Hama on 4 November 2026, with officials from Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria attending the ceremony. Saudi sources report the project is overseen by the Syrian Ministry of Health and aims to elevate the capacity of health professionals across the country. Syria Weekly, however, notes that Governor Abulrahman al‑Sahyan—rather than Deputy Governor Mohamed Jihad Ta’ama—laid the foundation stone, showing a discrepancy in accounts. A later development announced that the Syrian Prime Minister received a delegation from the Center, underscoring continued engagement.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center laid the foundation stone for a Continuous Medical and Health Education Center (CCMHE) in Hama, Syria, on 4 November 2026, during a ceremony attended by officials from Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria.
Saudi sources say the ceremony was supervised by the Syrian Ministry of Health and is intended to create a specialized training environment for doctors, nurses and other health professionals.
The Saudi Press highlighted the presence of Deputy Governor of Hama Mohamed Jihad Ta’ama, Director of the King Salman Aid Center office in Jordan and Syria Dr. Naif Salem Al Shammari, Deputy Health Governor Dr. Mohammed Al Sharif and Hospital Director Dr. Feras Masi, among others.
The Saudi Ambassador to Syria, Gazi bin Rafi Al‑Anzi, said the project reflects Saudi efforts to support the Syrian people, combining infrastructure, equipment, education and personnel training to improve health services across provinces.
In contrast, Syria Weekly reported that the foundation stone was laid by Governor Abulrahman al‑Sahyan together with the King Salman Center and the Aamal Al‑Bar NGO, a detail absent from the Saudi account.
Later that week, the Syrian Prime Minister received a delegation from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center, a development noted by the Syrian Arab News Agency.
