Chinese giant pandas Ping Ping, a male, and Fu Shuang, a female, made their public debut at Zoo Atlanta on Friday after more than a month of quarantine. The unveiling followed their arrival from China in September under a 10‑year loan agreement, according to a report published by Xinhua.

Both animals were sent to the United States as part of a long‑running panda conservation and exchange program that the Xinhua piece identifies as a “significant moment in the ongoing panda conservation and exchange program between China and the U.S., showcasing cooperation and environmental stewardship.”

The Atlanta arrival was confirmed by several U.S. media outlets. AP News reported that Ping Ping and Fu Shuang arrived from China in September and that, after acclimating to their new habitat, they were ready for public viewing. U.S. News and the Stamford Advocate also described the 10‑year loan arrangement that brought the pair to the American capital of Georgia.

The debut is part of the zoo’s efforts to support panda breeding and to give visitors an opportunity to see a species that has become an international symbol of wildlife protection.
