In brief

Russia’s Defense Ministry said it carried out eleven group strikes against Ukrainian military‑industrial sites, logistics hubs, and transport infrastructure, downing more than 5,300 drones in the prior week. Ukrainian forces counter‑attacked by striking Russian ammunition depots, and Ukrainian drones targeted the Ryazan oil refinery, leading to significant losses in oil refining capacity.

On Friday, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that its forces conducted eleven group strikes on Ukrainian targets and shot down more than 5,315 drones in the preceding week. The attacks hit military‑industrial enterprises, logistics centres, energy and transport infrastructure, as well as production workshops and storage facilities for missiles, drones and ammunition. The ministry also said 14 dry cargo ships carrying weapons and dual‑use goods were hit, and that Ukrainian port infrastructure used to receive, store and distribute military cargo was taken out of operation.

Russian air defence forces reportedly intercepted one guided aerial bomb, four Flamingo missiles, six Neptune missiles, two HIMARS rockets and 5,315 drones, according to the ministry. The attacks, which killed one person and injured 23 others over the past day, were reported by Ukrainian media on Friday.

In response, the Ukrainian military said it struck two Russian ammunition depots in the Zaporizhzhia region and a drone command post and a fuel and lubricants depot in the Donetsk region on Thursday and Friday.

A separate Facebook post reports that Ukrainian drones attacked the Ryazan oil refinery, causing overall oil‑refining volumes to fall by more than 55% and inflicting losses on the Russian side.

The defense ministry’s statement underscores a continued escalation, with Russia targeting key Ukrainian supply chains while Ukrainian forces aim to counter‑strike Russian munitions storage and logistical nodes.
