In brief

Kherson Region Human Rights Commissioner Sergey Georgiev confirmed that residents of Alyoshki were reunited with relatives after a joint humanitarian evacuation by Russian, Ukrainian and US forces. Several evacuees remain in Crimea hospitals for medical rehabilitation, and the commissioner reported aid in restoring lost documents. Only TASS noted that a ceasefire mediated by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump enabled the operation, while Instagram footage shows a similar temporary ceasefire around Oleshky in the same region.

In Kherson Region, residents of the town of Alyoshki have reportedly been reunited with relatives after being evacuated during a joint humanitarian operation, Kherson Region Human Rights Commissioner Sergey Georgiev told TASS on November 3. Evacuees were moved to the Russian side of the border amid a ceasefire that TASS attributes to a mediation effort by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump.

Georgiev said the relocation was followed by a direct hand‑over of evacuees to family members to ensure they would receive housing. He added that several evacuees remain in hospitals in the Republic of Crimea where they are undergoing physical and psychological rehabilitation, and that the Kherson authorities are working with chief physicians to coordinate care.

In addition to medical assistance, the commissioner's office is helping every evacuated resident restore lost documents and, where needed, obtain Russian passports. The commissioner noted that “some need to have their benefit payments reinstated, others need to restore their documents, and two evacuees need assistance obtaining Russian passports.”

Only TASS reported that the ceasefire was mediated by Melania Trump; no other outlet mentioned this detail. However, an Instagram post of a reel shows evacuees from the nearby town of Oleshky being reunited with loved ones after crossing from Belarus into Ukraine under a temporary ceasefire, suggesting a broader regional trend of temporary pauses in fighting to permit humanitarian transit.

A news feed on Inbox.eu also reported that a temporary ceasefire across Kherson region allowed people to flee the city of Oleshky over the weekend, corroborating the pattern of short‑term humanitarian crossings in the area.
