A Russian strike has killed at least four people, including three young children, in a town west of Kharkiv, a Ukrainian official says.
Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that two boys, both aged 1, a two-year-old girl, and a 34-year-old man died after a drone hit a house they were staying in.
A 35-year-old pregnant woman and another woman, 76, were injured in the strike on Bohodukhiv, Synegubov stated.
This attack on Bohodukhiv occurred during a renewed wave of military strikes after a week-long pause, coinciding with US President Donald Trump urging Russian President Vladimir Putin to observe humanitarian considerations due to extreme cold conditions in Ukraine.
Additionally, Russian forces dropped seven bombs on the city of Slovyansk around 12:00 on Tuesday, as reported by Donetsk regional governor Vadym Filashkin, resulting in the death of two people, including an 11-year-old girl.
Earlier in the week, Bohodukhiv was already struck by Russian forces, contributing to a heightened state of emergency in the region over energy infrastructure disruptions caused by ongoing attacks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted an increase in Russian military pressure, particularly through attacks on transport and energy facilities, following the expiration of an energy truce intended to ease the humanitarian crisis during frigid temperatures.
In related news, a significant drone attack by Ukrainian forces was reported in Volzhsky, Volgograd region in Russia, leading to property damage and a fire outbreak.
