Three individuals, including two police officers, have been reported dead due to an explosion in Moscow, as confirmed by Russian authorities. The tragic event occurred when two traffic police officers approached a 'suspicious individual' near their patrol vehicle on Yeletskaya Street. Tragically, an explosive device was triggered, resulting in their deaths along with another bystander.

This explosion occurred in close proximity to another violent incident earlier this week, where a senior military general was killed in a car bombing. Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov lost his life when an explosive device, hidden under a vehicle, detonated.

Svetlana Petrenko, a spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, announced via Telegram that an investigation has been launched into this attack aimed at traffic police officers. The fallen officers, identified as 24-year-old Ilya Klimanov and 25-year-old Maxim Gorbunov, were serving their duties at the time of the explosion.

A nearby resident described the explosion as a loud bang reminiscent of a recent car bombing. Although Russian authorities suspect Ukrainian involvement in some of these violent acts, Ukraine has not commented on any connection to Sarvarov's death, leaving open the question of potential links between these incidents.

In recent months, the number of military officials targeted in similar attacks has been alarming, with Sarvarov being the third such victim in Moscow in just one year.
