TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Savannah Guthrie is renewing her appeal to the Tucson community, hoping to jog the memories of neighbors, friends, and residents to assist in the search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing since February 1.
On Sunday morning, the “Today Show” co-host shared a heartfelt statement from her family via her Instagram, calling for anyone who might have seen anything out of the ordinary between January 31 and February 1, or the evening of January 11, to come forward.
The statement expressed gratitude to the community for their support, while urging individuals to review any personal records or conversations that could provide useful information. “Someone knows something. It’s possible a member of this community has information that they do not even realize is significant,” the family stated.
The family recognizes the possibility that Nancy may no longer be alive, which has made the ongoing search especially challenging. The Guthrie family is offering a $1 million reward for information that could lead to the recovery of Nancy.
Authorities suspect the 84-year-old woman was taken against her will, as the investigation continues. The FBI has released surveillance footage showing a masked individual near Nancy's home on the night of her disappearance.
In an emotional turn, Savannah Guthrie made her first offscreen visit to the NBC “Today Show” on March 5, signaling her dedication to supporting her family as well as her desire to return to the news world. Meanwhile, her former co-anchor Hoda Kotb has stepped in to fill her role during this difficult time.
As the days turn into weeks, the community remains hopeful for a breakthrough in the case. Tucson, located over 100 miles south of Phoenix, is known for its affluent neighborhoods and stunning hiking trails, where both locals and visitors frequently enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. The family remains steadfast in their search, believing that someone may hold the key to this mysterious disappearance.
