Following heavy clashes and ongoing military operations in northern Gaza, the Hamas-run health ministry has declared all public hospitals in the region out of service. The Indonesian hospital was the last functioning facility, now besieged by Israeli forces and inaccessible to patients and medical staff.
All public hospitals in northern Gaza have ceased operations, according to a statement from the Hamas-run health ministry. As Israeli forces intensify their military offensives in the area, reports indicate that the last remaining operative facility, the Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahia, is currently under siege. The health ministry noted that the hospital is being targeted with heavy fire, making it impossible for patients and medical staff to access the site.Israel's military announced "Operation Gideon's Chariot" over the weekend, marking a significant escalation in airstrikes targeting Gaza. This offensive is being described as one of the deadliest in recent months. Furthermore, Hamas has proposed a potential deal involving the release of nine hostages in exchange for a 60-day ceasefire and the liberation of Palestinian prisoners, according to a Palestinian official who spoke to the BBC.In a grim update, the health ministry confirmed that the destruction of Beit Hanoun Hospital and Kamal Adwan Hospital had already forced the closure of vital medical facilities, leading to the current situation where all public hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip are rendered non-operational. The humanitarian crisis in the region continues to worsen as access to medical care becomes critically limited.
