K-pop idols BTS have announced a globe-spanning, 79-date world tour, marking their return to the stage after a four-year hiatus.
With dates scheduled in London, Tokyo, Munich, Sydney, and Los Angeles, this tour is poised to be one of the biggest events of the year, particularly since the group has not performed outside the US and South Korea since 2018.
Their previous world tour broke records for a K-pop act, bringing in about $246 million (£182 million) at the global box office. Along the way, BTS became the first Korean act to headline Wembley Stadium.
The new tour kicks off with three nights in South Korea's Goyang Stadium starting April 9, 2026, before moving across Asia, Europe, and America.
The performances will occur on a 360-degree stage to allow for the maximum number of seats at each venue. The European leg includes London on July 6 and 7, 2026, alongside Paris, Madrid, Brussels, and Munich.
Tickets will be available for fans starting January 22, with general public sales following two days later.
According to Billboard, the group and their label BigHit / Hybe expect to earn over $1 billion (£740 million) from the tour, merchandise, licensing, album sales, and streaming revenues. Hybe had reported a significant drop in profits partially attributed to BTS's temporary hiatus.
Since forming in the early 2010s, BTS has achieved massive success by popularizing K-pop among Western audiences, melding slick dance pop with hip-hop and introspective lyrics.
Anticipation for their comeback intensified as member Suga returned from military service last June, marking the last of the group to leave active duty. Previous announcements attracted millions of viewers, showcasing the band’s ability to draw significant public interest.
The world tour marks a long-awaited return for fans and the band, who have seen decreased streaming numbers during their hiatus.
BTS has engaged fans during this time through several solo projects, continuing to keep enthusiasm alive. A new album, recorded in Los Angeles, is set to release on March 26, 2026.
As excitement builds, fans can look forward to a reshaped BTS, eager to deliver an energetic concert experience that blends solo endeavors and group synergy.
