Billionaire Elon Musk and Prince Andrew are named in new files released by Congressional Democrats that relate to the late convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The files turned over to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee by the Jeffrey Epstein Estate appear to show that Musk had been invited to Epstein's island in December 2014.
Separately, a flight manifest from New Jersey to Florida in May 2000 lists Prince Andrew among the passengers.
Musk and Prince Andrew have been approached for comment.
Prince Andrew has previously strenuously denied any wrongdoing, while Musk has stated that Epstein had invited him to the island but he declined.
The documents are part of the third batch produced by the Jeffrey Epstein Estate, including phone message logs, flight logs, financial ledgers, and Epstein's daily schedule.
Besides Musk and Prince Andrew, other prominent names mentioned include internet entrepreneur Peter Thiel and Steve Bannon, a former advisor to Donald Trump.
Some records indicate a reminder for Elon Musk's planned visit to the island on December 6, 2014.
The flight manifest shows that Prince Andrew was aboard a flight with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell on December 5, 2000. Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 for her roles in Epstein's criminal activities, is also mentioned in the documents.
The records also include references to meetings with Thiel and Bannon, but it is emphasized that there is no suggestion those noted were aware of Epstein's alleged crimes.
Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges. Previously, he reached a plea deal in 2008 after being charged with molesting a minor.
Sara Guerrero, a spokesperson for the Democrats on the Oversight Committee, called for more files related to Epstein to be released, highlighting the connections between Epstein and powerful individuals.
