In brief
TASS reports that about 60% of American voters express disapproval of President Donald Trump, while 20% of his 2024 supporters now see his job negatively. The poll also finds widespread anger and economic dissatisfaction, and an FNNews story adds that 60% of exit‑poll respondents blame Trump for inflation.
TASS published on July 17 that a preliminary CNN voter poll shows roughly six out of ten United States voters disapprove of President Donald Trump’s performance, with about 60% expressing a negative view. The U.S. poll was compiled from poll‑station interviews on election day and from tens of thousands of interviews conducted nationwide before the midterms.
According to the TASS report, roughly 20% of voters who backed Trump in the 2024 presidential election now view his job negatively, while the survey notes that three‑quarters of respondents say they are unhappy with the country’s current state, and nearly 40% report feelings of anger.
The poll also finds that about two‑thirds of respondents believe Trump has worsened the economic situation in the United States, attributing rising costs of living to his administration’s policies, not external factors.
In a separate statement, an exit‑poll reported by FNNews indicates that 60% of voters blame President Trump for current inflation, and notes the president’s approval rating at 38%, the lowest since 2008. The FNNews source is the only outlet to report the inflation blame statistic.
