Police in Lahore confirmed Saturday night a cylinder exploded on the first floor of a private bakery factory in the Gulberg area, killing one person and injuring eight others.
According to Xinhua, the blast occurred in the early hours of Sunday, and Rescue 1122 personnel rushed to the scene to shift the wounded to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
More than 40 workers were present on the floor at the time of the explosion, but all were safely evacuated, the Rescue 1122 official told the news agency.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the cylinder detonation.
