Attorney Alex Spiro, who currently represents hip-hop mogul Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter), has come under fire for alleged misconduct dating back to 2013. Previously associated with Harvey Weinstein, Spiro's connections to the controversial film producer are well-documented, as the two share an extensive business history.

Recent investigations reported by the NY Post reveal that Spiro improperly used his former Manhattan District Attorney's badge to gain access to restricted areas while no longer in service. Notably, during a legal conference in Miami, he falsely claimed to be head of the DA’s “homicide bureau,” a position that doesn’t exist, leading to a confrontation with a knowledgeable attendee.

Moreover, Spiro reportedly utilized his badge to access the Early Case Assessment Bureau (ECAB) in the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse, a sensitive area reserved for prosecutors and law enforcement. Eyewitness accounts affirm that he was seen in these secure spaces after his departure from the district attorney's office.

While former Manhattan prosecutors are permitted to keep their badges, the protocol forbids public display, a regulation Spiro allegedly ignored. At the time of these incidents, he was an associate of the defense attorney Ben Brafman, who is currently defending Weinstein against severe sexual assault allegations.

The ongoing scrutiny surrounding Alex Spiro raises significant concerns about his conduct and the implications it may have for his high-profile client, Jay-Z, as well as for his professional reputation.
