On 2 November 2026, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) provided safe drinking water to 691 families in Yemen’s Lahj Governorate, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The distribution occurred through 20 water points set up in five displaced‑person camps, as part of KSrelief’s emergency response plan to secure potable water for both refugees and host communities.

Operation Details

According to SPA, the relief effort was coordinated across the five camps in Lahj Governorate, with each camp receiving a proportional share of water for the affected households.

KSrelief’s underlying mission, as highlighted by SPA, is to alleviate the suffering of Yemen’s displaced and affected populations by meeting essential basic needs, and providing safe drinking water was identified as a priority after reports of shortages in the region.

The 20 distribution points were set up to ensure quick access and to reduce the time families spent traveling for water, a measure that the agency says will help the camps survive until a more permanent solution can be arranged.

SPA emphasized that the delivery was part of an “ongoing humanitarian and relief work” and that KSrelief’s intervention was aimed at sustaining the food and health supplies in the area.

While the agency portrayed the operation as successful, it did not provide follow‑up figures on the total amount of water delivered or the duration for which the supplies will last.

KTrelief officials thanked local partners for their cooperation and noted that future water projects would expand to neighboring regions once logistical challenges are addressed.
