In brief
Kristin Cabot, the Chief People Officer at Astronomer, has stepped down following a widely circulated video showing her in an intimate moment with the company's CEO during a live performance. This video, which garnered millions of views and was humorously commented on by Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin, has drawn significant media attention and public speculation. Just a week prior, the company's CEO Andy Byron was put on leave for an investigation into unspecified issues, ultimately leading to his resignation. In light of these events, Pete DeJoy, a co-founder, has taken over as interim CEO, vowing to maintain the company's momentum amidst the sudden publicity.
The incident, which displayed the executives swaying to the music before attempting to avoid the camera's gaze, has sparked a flurry of memes and commentary, causing a wave of internet curiosity. While Astronomer is navigating through the aftermath of this unexpected situation, DeJoy emphasized the importance of sustaining their commitment to innovation in the data and AI sectors, despite the challenges brought on by the recent events.
