Early Monday, drones struck the Aroma and New Halfa electricity substations in eastern Kassala state, Sudan, leaving the state in a widespread power outage according to local sources reported by Anadolu.

The attacks bring the total of power‑station drone strikes across Sudan to 15 in the past week, a figure cited by Anadolu that highlights mounting tensions between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces amid the ongoing civil war.

Videos circulated on social media showed fires at the New Halfa and Aroma stations, with civil‑defense teams seen attempting to extinguish the blaze at the Aroma facility, reports Anadolu.

Following the attacks, the Sudanese government said on Sunday it had filed complaints against Ethiopia with the United Nations Security Council and the African Union Peace and Security Council, accusing Addis Ababa of involvement in attacks on civilian infrastructure, according to Anadolu.

Only TRT Afrika reported that a drone strike on a power station in northern Sudan on the preceding Sunday sparked a fire and loud explosions, witnesses told Anadolu, but the outlet gave no further details.
