An investigation has been initiated into the tragic death of Raphaël Graven, a French streamer globally recognized as Jeanpormanove. Graven, aged 46, was discovered dead at a residence in Contes, situated north of Nice. Reports indicate that he had experienced intense bouts of violence and sleep deprivation while streaming, and passed away in his sleep during a live broadcast.

French Minister Clara Chappaz confirmed that a judicial investigation is now active, denouncing Graven's experiences as "absolute horror." She emphasized that he had been subjected to humiliation for months, sparking concerns regarding the treatment of online content creators.

Kick, the streaming platform similar to Twitch where Graven held an audience of over one million followers, expressed its sadness over the streamer’s passing. A spokesperson revealed that they are urgently reviewing the circumstances of his death to ensure the safety of their creators, asserting their commitment to maintaining community guidelines designed to protect users.

Moreover, Sarah El Haïry, France's High Commissioner for Children, labeled Graven's death "horrifying," urging platforms to take greater accountability for regulating violent content online. She called on parents to remain vigilant in monitoring their children's exposure to such material.

The prosecutor's office has confirmed the launch of an investigation to determine the cause of death, which includes conducting an autopsy. Graven’s passing has left a notable void in the online community, with tributes pouring in from fellow streamers. One of his collaborators, Naruto, paid homage to him via Instagram, requesting that people respect his memory and refrain from circulating clips depicting Graven in distress.

Owen Cenazandotti, another streamer who collaborated with Graven recently, echoed the call for respect, asking followers not to share any footage of his death. In the wake of this tragedy, the spotlight remains on the responsibilities of streaming platforms in ensuring the wellbeing of their content creators and viewers.
