US President Donald Trump stated in a recent interview that he takes more aspirin than doctors recommend and has been using makeup to cover bruising on his hands. Expressing frustration over ongoing health discussions, he confidently declared, 'My health is perfect.'
The 79-year-old president detailed that he takes 325mg of aspirin daily, significantly higher than the 81mg typically advised. Trump explained, 'They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don't want thick blood pouring through my heart.'
In the interview with The Wall Street Journal, he recounted a CT scan he had undergone in October, clarifying that it was not the MRI he earlier mentioned. His doctor confirmed the scan did not reveal any abnormalities related to cardiovascular issues.
Despite showing signs of aging, including potential drowsiness during meetings and difficulty hearing questions, Trump remained adamant about his health status. 'I just don't like exercising. It's boring,' he admitted. Citing golf as the only activity he enjoys, he also noted his refusal to comply with wearing compression socks despite medical advice.
Trump attributed visible bruising to his accidental contacts and stated that he carries makeup to conceal it. He dismissed reports of him nodding off in public as merely him closing his eyes to relax.
His healthcare provider reiterated that the President is in 'exceptional health' and capable of fulfilling his responsibilities.
