Destroyed vehicle in Gaza City

In Gaza City's western area, Israeli fire during a reported raid has been reported to have killed three civilians, including two children and a woman, according to local Palestinian medics.

Local accounts claim that an Israel‑backed Palestinian militia carried out a raid, prompting Israeli military shelling and air strikes once the assault was discovered.

A separate incident in central Gaza also claimed the life of a third child, bringing the total fatalities to three within just hours.

Israel Defence Minister Israel Katz announced the arrest of a senior Hamas official; however, it is not yet clear whether this detention is connected to the Gaza City raid.

Videos from the area show chaotic scenes with gunfire sounds and the aftermath of air strikes, while a local source indicated a senior Hamas security official may have been targeted.

Israeli forces reportedly used drone strikes to secure the special unit following the discovery of the raid. The military confirmed that several targets were struck to remove perceived threats to security forces, noting that no Israeli troops sustained injuries.
