Russian ballistic missiles targeted Kyiv, marking the latest escalation in the ongoing war.
The city’s military administrator, Timur Tkachenko, described the assault as a massive attack on the Kyiv region, resulting in one fatality—a woman—and at least twelve injuries. Tkachenko warned civilians that “fears exist people could be trapped under rubble after strikes on the centre of the city,” urging residents to heed air‑raid sirens and protect themselves and loved ones.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko added that the assault struck residential buildings and warehouses, with damage recorded in Bucha, Brovary, and Fastiv districts.
Earlier, Ukraine had broadened its strikes on Russian infrastructure, attacking power facilities and depots belonging to the e‑commerce giant Wildberries. Those recent raids killed five people and wounded ten in the Moscow region.
In the southern Krasnodar region, a drone attack on a beach caused seven fatalities and 58 injuries, while in Kherson a drone‑chase video sparked calls for a “hunt” against civilians. Both sides deny deliberate targeting of civilians.
Amid the heightened threat, Ukraine is pressing allies for additional US‑made Patriot missile interceptors to counter Russian ballistic attacks.
