Suspected crime boss Daniel Kinahan has been arrested in the United Arab Emirates in relation to alleged serious organised crime offences. Kinahan, aged in his 40s, was apprehended in Dubai over a warrant issued by Irish courts, according to reports from Irish national broadcaster RTÉ. The arrest, executed on Wednesday, April 15, followed intensive search and surveillance operations conducted by Dubai police.

Irish authorities were aware of Kinahan's apprehension, which is part of efforts to combat cross-border crime. The arrest occurred shortly after Dublin authorities provided a judicial file detailing Kinahan's alleged crimes and his role in an international criminal organization. Following this, Dubai's Public Prosecution issued an arrest warrant to initiate legal proceedings for his extradition.

Kinahan was captured within 48 hours of the warrant's issuance, and the authorities in Dubai are handling the matter as per the bilateral agreement on extradition between Ireland and the UAE. An Garda Síochána stated, 'Today's arrest is another extremely important demonstration of the need for international law enforcement cooperation in tackling transnational organised crime.'
