Irwin, the daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, opened up about her personal struggles with endometriosis in a heartfelt Instagram post aimed at raising awareness and encouraging conversations around this painful condition. After 13 years of battling severe symptoms and undergoing multiple surgeries to treat the illness, she is finally witnessing a turnaround in her health.

In her post to her 5.7 million followers, Irwin explained how the pain she endured was often dismissed as merely a normal part of womanhood, leading to feelings of shame and inadequacy. "I felt utterly ashamed as a teenager and young adult being told that my pain was just part of being a woman. That is not ok," she stated. The 27-year-old highlighted the need for young girls and women to not suffer in silence, asserting, “We need to take away the stigma of talking about women's health.”

Irwin’s original post regarding her endometriosis journey in 2023 gained significant attention, receiving over 1.1 million likes, emphasizing public interest in women's health issues. Her latest updates, which showcase her healing process, attract around 260,000 likes and foster greater dialogue on the subject.

Endometriosis, a condition affecting approximately one in ten women, is characterized by the growth of tissue similar to the endometrium in other areas, leading to debilitating symptoms such as severe pain during menstruation, sexual activity, and even daily tasks. Currently, there is no known cure, and many women experience lengthy delays before receiving a diagnosis.

Irwin continues to combat the stigma surrounding women's health, calling for open discussions and awareness improvement on global scales. She manages Australia Zoo alongside her mother, Terri, and brother, Robert, while also balancing family life with her husband Chandler Powell and their daughter, Grace Warrior.

As Irwin shares her journey, she hopes to inspire others to seek help and advocate for themselves and their health.
