Ella Langley Cancels Sold‑Out Tulsa Show After “Serious Security Threat”
Record‑breaking country star Ella Langley withdrew her show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this Friday night after a terrifying phone call threatened “great harm” with shots and bombs. The singer, 27, announced the cancellation only a couple of hours before the 19,000‑seat BOK Center was set to open.
In her Instagram post, Langley called the decision “incredibly difficult” and said the threat “involved the safety of my fans, the venue staff and my team.” She added that she would update fans on ticket refunds soon.
Tulsa Police Captain Richard Meulenberg said officers were already present at the arena and had conducted two sweeps—one before the show and a second after the call. Police Feds used sniffer dogs but found no credible threat. “We could not find a credible threat,” he told reporters, adding that the caller “disrupted this entire event” for thousands of fans.
The BOK Center released its own statement, noting that the safety and well‑being of everyone involved were its absolute priority and that, after careful consideration, the show could not proceed. “We understand the disappointment this news brings and apologise to fans who planned to attend,” the arena said.
Langley has rapid‑fire triumphs, including her chart‑topping single “Choosin’ Texas,” now the longest‑running No. 1 in U.S. history, and a sweep of the Academy of Country Music Awards last May.
Fans are awaiting further details on refunds, while the band prepares for rescheduling once the threat situation is resolved.
