In brief

Ukrainian drones have struck two Wildberries warehouses overnight, sparking intense fires that spread to nearby industrial facilities. The attacks left five people dead and several injured in Chekhov, south of Moscow, and caused damage to an electrical substation and administration building. In the St. Petersburg and Tver regions, Wildberries sites also suffered drone strikes, with satellite imagery showing smoke billowing over the piles of goods. The incident has intensified debate over the company’s supply chain links to Russian military logistics, with Kyiv accusing the depots of supplying troops, a claim Moscow denies.

Two Wildberries warehouses came under fire from Ukrainian drones over the night of Monday, igniting severe flames that spread to nearby industrial premises. At least five people were reported killed and 10 more injured in a site 69 km south of Moscow, local officials said.

Over a dozen other Wildberries sites were hit in the St. Petersburg and Tver regions, with satellite images and social‑media footage revealing dark plumes of smoke rising from the damaged storage buildings.

A governor of the Chekhov area told Telegram that a warehouse, an electrical substation and a staff building had been destroyed, and seven of the 10 injured were in moderate condition, one in a serious state.

Reports indicate that the depots supplied Russian troops, a claim denied by Moscow and used by Kyiv as a counter‑argument against hosting the company. Russian defence officials said they intercepted 320 drones overnight, while Russian strikes on Ukraine killed at least four people.
