US singer D4vd has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl who went missing last year, according to police reports. The star, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, was implicated in the murder investigation of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, 14, whose remains were discovered in his Tesla vehicle in September. The Los Angeles Police Department announced that the 21-year-old D4vd is being detained without bail and the case will be presented to the District Attorney's office on Monday.

Burke's legal team has asserted that evidence will show he did not cause Hernandez's death, stressing that no indictment has been issued so far. The discovery of Rivas Hernandez's remains came after authorities responded to reports of an unpleasant odor emanating from a vehicle. Investigators found her decomposed body along with identifying items such as jewelry and a tattoo resembling one on Burke's finger.

The case garnered significant media attention after details of the decomposed body surfaced, provoking public intrigue and speculation regarding potential connections between Burke and Rivas. A grand jury was previously involved, but Burke’s arrest marks a pivotal development in the troubling case that remains unsolved in terms of the exact cause of death. Following the incident, D4vd has canceled his world tour and withdrawn from public events. Meanwhile, his representatives maintain he has been cooperative with authorities throughout the investigation.
