Lil Nas X Quotes His 'Terrifying' Arrest Experience: 'I'm OK'

Lil Nas X has said he's OK after a 'terrifying last four days' following his arrest in Los Angeles.

The Grammy winner, known for his country-rap hit 'Old Town Road', was arrested after police officers reported that he assaulted them upon being found walking the streets naked. He was hospitalized for what was described as a possible overdose.

On August 27, the 26-year-old rapper pleaded not guilty to charges of injuring a police officer and resisting arrest before being released on a $75,000 bail.

On Instagram, he reassured fans with a post stating, 'Your girl is gonna be OK, y’all.' He added that the situation had been 'terrifying.'

Following the incident, Lil Nas X's lawyer commented that there was no evidence of drug use, deeming it an 'aberrant episode' in an otherwise productive life.

Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, faces three felony counts related to the charges, with a potential five-year prison sentence if convicted. Police allege that he charged at them in response to a report of a nude man on a busy street. They suspected drug usage at the time, and he is required to enter an outpatient drug rehabilitation program.

In a statement to reporters, his father expressed that Lil Nas X is 'very remorseful for what happened' and is committed to seeking help.

Lil Nas X gained fame with his record-breaking single 'Old Town Road' in 2018, becoming the first openly gay man to win a Country Music Association Award. He has consistently challenged norms within the music industry with his LGBT-positive lyrics and trailblazing promotional strategies.

Fans may recall his memorable performance at Glastonbury 2023, where he made an entrance on a giant fake horse ahead of Sir Elton John's farewell show.
