In brief

Saudi airstrikes on Wednesday in northern Yemen’s Al‑Jawf province killed 14 people and wounded 10, according to Houthi‑run Al‑Masirah TV. The attacks hit a market in Al‑Hazm and a fuel station in Al‑Tayseer, with most casualties among women and children. The figures remain preliminary and have not been confirmed by Saudi authorities.

On Wednesday, Saudi airstrikes targeted a market in Al‑Hazm and a fuel station in Al‑Tayseer in Yemen’s northern Al‑Jawf province, killing 14 people and injuring 10, Houthi‑run Al‑Masirah TV reported, and Xinhua relayed the story.

The channel said several airstrikes struck a public market in the provincial capital of Al‑Hazm, while a separate strike hit the Al‑Tayseer fuel station in the surrounding area. The casualty count rose from an earlier toll of 12, with women and children among the victims, Al‑Masirah said.

Al‑Masirah noted that the figures were preliminary and could not be independently verified. No comment had yet come from Saudi Arabian authorities regarding the Houthi media report.

The strikes occurred amid ongoing cross‑border attacks between the Houthis and the Saudi‑led coalition, as well as intense fighting between the Houthi movement and Saudi‑backed Yemeni government forces. Yemen has been in conflict since 2014, when the Houthis seized the capital Sanaa and much of northern Yemen, prompting Saudi intervention in 2015.
