Former right-wing commentator Lauren Southern has made serious allegations against online influencer Andrew Tate, claiming he assaulted her during a trip to Bucharest in February 2018. Southern, who rose to fame with her provocative anti-feminist and anti-immigrant rhetoric, recounts the encounter in her newly released memoir, “This Is Not Real Life.”
At the time of the incident, Southern was 22 years old, and Tate was establishing his controversial online persona. According to her account, while under the influence of alcohol, Tate allegedly strangled and assaulted her in a hotel room.
To substantiate her claims, Southern shared a report from a Toronto hospital where she sought medical attention following the alleged assault. The report, dated February 28, 2018, indicates that she reported being assaulted by a “30-year-old man in Romania.” While the latter was not named in the report, Southern described him to acquaintances as a “potential investor.”
Witnesses corroborate that Southern informed them about the incident the next morning. However, the hospital cited patient privacy regulations and could not officially authenticate the report upon recent inquiries.
Tate's legal representation has firmly rejected Southern's allegations, with his lawyer stating, “She is lying through her teeth,” intensifying the scrutiny surrounding the influencer, who has been facing various accusations.
As these claims surface, they contribute to the mounting controversy around Tate, who has been under investigation for serious criminal allegations, including rape and human trafficking.
