Ajman, November 6, 2026 -- Ajman Municipality and its Planning Department announced it has completed preparations for the rainy season.
The announcement comes after the deployment of 82 pumps, 15 tanker trucks and 14 field teams designed to boost the efficacy of the emirate’s stormwater drainage system.
During an inspection led by Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector, officials reviewed 29 current drainage stations and outlined plans to expand the network to 32 stations by year‑end, while also extending the drainage network length from 81.65 kilometres to 89.3 kilometres over the next year.
Al Muhairi highlighted that the 14 field teams, comprising 60 engineers and specialists and 173 workers, operate under preparedness and field‑response plans to handle reports and emergencies rapidly.
The plan also includes preventive maintenance of roughly 18,500 stormwater drainage inlets, focusing on cleaning and readiness checks to enhance water flow during rainfall.
Coordination with emergency services is a key component of the initiative, aimed at safeguarding residents during heavy rain events and maintaining smooth traffic flow.
